Confession time:  Moving to Nicaragua gives me blisters!  Blisters from sweeping the floor so stinking often; blisters from pealing so astoundingly many mangoes... and emotional blisters from adjusting to so many new (and sometimes inconvenient) things!  Does life ever give you blisters like that?

For anybody who missed it, this post is really about death and LIFE -- specifically a teeny tiny new life God blessed us with.  We'll get to meet this new little baby in August and we couldn't be happier!

As we are surrounded by the growing-more-familiar-but-still-foreign world of Nicaragua, God has taken advantage of our vulnerability to show us His faithful love and care many times.  Little things like the water coming back on right before I really "needed" to give my dirty children bedtime baths.  And more recently a pretty big one in our world:  recovering Lucas' driver's license.

Well it's certainly been a red-letter year for us with an international move just a month behind us!  And it's also about time for an update, huh?

I really must appologize for not writing sooner and for not having more pictures to share.  There's been a lot going on and in the midst of it all, I can't find the camera nor do I really know exactly where to go to get a replacement.  But on the bright side, we're in a house again, and this time making it into a home rather than dismanteling it to move.  Praise God for the 'landed' and 'settled' feelings which are growing all the time!

After waiting 6 months to sell our house, God brought us not one but two offers ON THE SAME DAY!!

Sold!

And we'll go November 25th down to Leon, Nicaragua.

Why now?  After a lot of prayer, preparation, and waiting, God seems to be telling us now is the time.

Oh my, I had intended to keep this more up-to-date... So what have we been up to?

So we're moving!  Not to Nicaragua, not yet.  Back to Bloomington.  When?  The plan is to pack up in St. Louis on Aug 16th and drive up to Bloomington and get the truck unpacked on the 17th.  Why?  Well, glad you asked...

1.  Our home up in Bloomington was listed with a realtor and the contract is up (as is our rental lease down in St Louis) but it hasn't sold.  We're going to go up to sell the house "By Owner" which will allow us to lower the price and care for it ourselves.  Hopefully this will help it to sell more quickly, and we'll save realtor fees too.

Eight long days away from my sweet babies, five short days trying on Leon, Nicaragua as a new home for our family.  Now that we're back, it seems like a lot to process.  As I look through the pictures of street scenes, possible houses to buy, and a world that seems both very different and very much the same as the midwest, I have a lot of impressions.
